The Beauty Buffs: New Year's Eve [Round up]

Happy New Year's Eve! New Year's is one of my favorite holidays. I love to get dressed up, go out, and celebrate the end of one awesome year and welcome what the future holds. I am pretty nontraditional when it comes to resolutions. I usually just pick one with a defined goal. One year it was to get my driver license, another I vowed to get a new job. I decided to keep 2015's resolution to myself, but I will share it if it happens!

Also, this is my 400th post! Yay!

In March of this year, Nory of Fierce Makeup and Nails brought a bunch of beauty, nail, and fashion bloggers together to create a group of kick-ass girls and called us The Beauty Buffs. For this Beauty Buffs post, I wanted to take a look back at our awesome year!

Stars and Spots

Sometimes I think about renaming my blog to "I Broke a Nail." Whenever my nails just start getting nice and long, they all break, and I mean all of them. They have been reduced to nubs once again. When my nails go through trauma, I usually start feeling uninspired. That means its time for me to turn to my number one source of inspiration: Pinterest.

I had pinned these mermaid nails  by Squeaky Nails because I loved all the embellishments. While I loved the mermaid look, I decided to put my own spin on it.

Look Book: Fall Florals

Winter is officially in full swing around here and that means everyone is in bundled up mode. Coats, boots, scarves, oh my! However, my favorite winter trend this season is dresses. I know, I know, a dress in the winter, you've got to be crazy. It’s actually super easy to extend your spring wardrobe into the fall and winter by just pairing a spring dress with thick tights and sweaters for a warm and fashionable look.

[Modani Style Challenge] Living Room Style

Want to hear a little known fact about me? I used to want to be an interior designer! When I was a teenager, my dad let me design and decorate almost every room in our house. A bathroom tile and fixtures store near my house loved my ideas so much, they even offered me a job when I turned 18 (spoiler: I never ended up working there).

I love starting with a central theme, and then my mind just explodes with ideas on how to bring it to life in a room. I really wanted to stretch my interior design muscles again using some pieces from Modani.

Modani Chic and Modern Living Room Design

Modani features really cool looking pieces from modern sofas to decorations, mixed in with some glam. I decided to go for a sleek look when designing my Modani living room, and started with silver and white. Of course I had to add in pops of colors (I am obsessing over those throw pillows!).

The one thing I was a little disappointed in was that almost every piece of furniture was made of leather, and as a vegetarian, I do not support the use or purchase of animal products. Luckily I ended up finding this nice white couch made of leatherette. Win!

I was really pleased with how my room came out! White and silver add a really chic and modern element, while the pops of color bring life to the room. Once I move out of my apartment and get my own home, you bet I will be designing again, and Modani offers some really cool pieces!

What item in my Modani living room do you like the best? Do you like interior decorating too?

The Beauty Buffs: Gold vs Silver

Is it just me, or are the holidays the perfect time to wear gold and silver? The metallics are fun but still super classy. Wearing accents of gold and silver is the perfect way to add a festive element to a look, without being over the top.

This week The Beauty Buffs decided to tackle the age-old question: gold or silver? Personally, I’m not a fan of gold, but I do love silver. However, I didn't want to leave anyone out so I decided to try a triple eyeliner look using both gold and silver.

Born Pretty Store Review: Metal Rose Nail Studs

Happy Saturday! I am spending this weekend with my boyfriend’s family celebrating Chanukkah. You all know how much I love his dad’s house. I might even take some Look Book photos this weekend! Hmm…

Today I have another Born Pretty Store product to share with you. This time, it’s these metal rose nail studs. They come in either gold or silver, and have such gorgeous detail. They are a little on the larger side giving a really striking 3D look that’s perfect to wear for a special occasion. The bottom side is flat so they can easily stick on the nail. Each pack contains ten roses, one for each nail. This means they are also reusable, so make sure that you save them if you catch any falling off.

Born Pretty Store Review: Simple Silver Rings

I have been obsessing over the midi ring trend ever since it came out. Unfortunately, I have what I call "infant hands". Most average sized rings are huge on me and its always a struggle to find my size.

I was really excited to try out these simple rings from Born Pretty Store. They come in silver and gold, and are midi ring style. I just love how simple they are, it really is such a beautiful look. After looking at all the photos, it appeared that everyone was able to wear them as midi rings. I had high hopes.

Born Pretty Store Review: Leaf Water Decal

There might be snow on the ground already, but technically its still fall, and I'm not letting go of my favorite season that quickly! To keep that fall feeling, I did what any nail lover would do...put leaves on my nails!

Born Pretty Store Fall Leaf Nail Decals

I received these gorgeous fall leaf water decals from Born Pretty Store and they were the perfect way to rock fall on my nails. I love the beautiful fall colors and that they came in so many shapes and sizes. They are really easy to apply: just cut out the image you want, peal of the plastic, and soak for 20 seconds in warm water. The decal slides right off and its easy to place on the nail. One sheet comes with enough decals to have fall nails for the whole season.

The Beauty Buffs: Holidays

Its getting cold, the snow is falling, there are lots of great shopping deals...its time for the holidays! I don't celebrate Christmas, but I love Thanksgiving and Chanukkah. For me, this time of year means lots of traveling to see family all over the country, and lots of food!

During the long Thanksgiving weekend, Ben and I traveled to New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania for a total of two Thanksgiving dinners. I wanted to make sure I had an dinner outfit that was nice to see family in, but still comfy for a long car ride (and to fall asleep in after dinner). To me, that's what makes the perfect Holiday outfit, and the perfect Beauty Buffs Holiday themed look!

[Fanatic Style Challenge] New York Giants Jersey Outfit

If you know me, than you know I’m not a huge sports fan. But if you know me, you would also know that I am super proud of the place where I was born and raised: New York! Part of expressing my love for this amazing state and city is supporting my New York teams. I’m pretty bummed that baseball season is over for this year (go Yankees!) but that just means it’s time to root for the Giants.

I am all about “just in case” clothes. My closet is filled with odd pieces that I keep around “just in case” I’d ever need them. A tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirt, knee-high leopard boots, a few corsets from my Rocky Horror days, you just never know what you might need! When the Giants were in the Superbowl a few years ago, we had a party at my job and I came to realize that I didn't own one single Giants thing. It has been a mission of mine to find the perfect "just in case" Giants wear.

I started thinking about how much I need an NFL jersey in my wardrobe, and how I would wear it. I chose the women's Eli Manning jersey because I have recently decided that Eli Manning is my favorite Giants player (only because during the Hallmark Channels Kitten Bowl, there was a cat named Feline Manning).

NFL New York Giants Eli Manning Jersey

Playing off the the Giant's colors, I added lots of red and blue accents to this look. Since a football jersey isn't the most feminine article of clothing, I wanted to girly it up by adding a pair of flower earrings, nail polish, and a bold, red lippie. But remember this is still a sporting event, so I included a pair of white sneakers and red leggings to stay comfy. I topped it all off with an American flag headband, because there is nothing more American than football!

How would you have styled this New York Giants jersey? Which team would you have chosen?

[Weddington Way Style Challenge] One Bridesmaids Dress,Two Ways

Like most girls, I have been planning my wedding since I was a kid. It didn't matter to me who the groom would be, I spend hours dreaming about what my dress would look like, who would be standing next to me, and what songs would be played. As I got older some of my choices changed, but one thing that hasn't changed is that my bridesmaids would be wearing short, red dresses.

I was challenged by Weddington Way to style a bridesmaids dress two ways: a wedding look, and a weekend look. I checked out their website, and I chose this dress because it is what I had envisioned for my future bridesmaids. What I love about Weddington way is they they have a huge selection of styles and colors, so its pretty much impossible to not find the perfect dress. You can also order a dress swatch, to make sure its the perfect color to fit your theme. To top it all off, you can even give your bridesmaids $15 towards their dress! Because lets face it, those girls are already going to be dropping $100-$200 on a dress they didn't even pick.

For the wedding look, I styled the dress I chose in the way I would want the bridesmaids to dress for my own wedding (are you paying attention, Sara?)

[Collab] Look Book: Sweater Weather

Is it just me, or did Fall last about two weeks? Its still November, but I feel like we are already in winter! Luckily, even though its doesn't feel like fall anymore, I can still swear all of my fall favorites. Who am I kidding?! I wear fall clothes from September through March! Of course I love the accessories from scarves to boots, but you can't have those without the perfect sweater centerpiece.

When Dee of Slumber Talk asked me to do a collaboration post with her, I was super excited about the Sweater Weather theme.

Every year I seem to add more sweaters in to my wardrobe. My mom got me this blue sweater for my birthday, and I have been wearing it non-stop ever since. Its so comfy, and its perfect to wear on the weekends, but my favorite way to wear it is dressed up for work.

The Beauty Buffs: Metallic

I graduated college in 2011, and shortly after started my first job. For the next three years, I worked at jobs that required me to wear a uniform. For someone that loves to express themselves, especially through clothes, this was pretty rough. Coincidence that this blog is also 3 years old? Nail art was the perfect outlet to express myself while I wore uniforms 5 days a week.

Now that I work an office job, I love getting to dress up every day! Some of my coworkers comment that I am too dressed up for our casual office, but I welcome the opportunity to dress up!

I was actually really nervous when I got this dress, and I didn't wear it for months becsause the style was a little out of my comfort zone. But I took the plunge, and everyone at work loved it! I especially love the metallic statement-making collar, which was perfect for this weeks Beauty Buffs theme.

Mix & Match Makeup Looks: Hercules

A mix & match nail look can’t be completed without the matching makeup look! I shared my nails inspired by Meg from Hercules a few days ago, and now it’s time to see how she inspired my makeup. Of course I had to start with some light and dark purples just like she wears in her dress. I also added some gold accents to match the Born Pretty Store gold spiral nail decals.

Mix & Match: Hercules + BPS Review

It has been way too long since my last Disney princess Mix and Match look. I have wanted to do a look inspired by Meg from Hercules for a while. Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies. I love all of the mythology, plus I love that there's a Greek "princess" since I'm Greek.

I also have some awesome Born Pretty Store nail decals to share! I received these Unique G-shaped Pattern Nail Art Water Decals Transfers Stickers and they instantly reminded me of Meg from Hercules. Not only are there Greek key decals, but also spiral decals just like in the movie.

On a side note, yesterday was the 3rd blogaversary of Claws Up! Thanks to everyone for all of your support over the last three years! I appreciate everyone that has stuck around, especially those that were here from the start. Thanks for being kind and understanding, and always encouraging, even when I shared my many fails!

Halloween Makeup Looks: Hipster Ariel

I have finally been able to recover and get back to life after an awesome Halloween and birthday weekend! On Friday night I went out with Ben, my coworker, and some of her friends for a combination Halloween and birthday celebration. Ben dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and I was...Hipster Ariel!

Dia De Los Meurtos: My 25th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me, today is my 25th birthday! Also its Sunday, and whenever my birthday falls on a Sunday, that also means its daylight savings, and I get an extra hour of birthday. Ben and I went out to the Melting Pot for my birthday dinner yesterday, and today we are celebrating my birthday at the zoo!

I definitely had a really fun Halloween (stay tuned for my upcoming Halloween looks) and I always wished my birthday was October 31st. But the next best thing is having my birthday fall during Dia De Los Muertos. Every year I celebrate my birthday with Dia De Los Muertos nails. Not only do I get to extend my Halloween nail looks a little bit extra, but I also get to rock one of my favorite holidays on my nails during my birthday!

A Month oh Halloween Looks: Evil Pumpkin

Finally, after lots of waiting, my favorite day of the whole year has arrived. Its Halloween! Or as I like to call it: Part 1 of my birthday trilogy. I am so excited to dress up tonight and have lots of fun. If I could wear costumes everyday I would. There is something so fun about just going crazy and expressing yourself.

And the fact that pumpkins are involved makes it that much better.

For this year's Halloween manicure, I knew I wanted to incorporate Chalkboard Nails' smokey nail art. I asked Ben what I should add to it, and he said a scary jack-o-lantern with glowing yellow eyes. With that, I bring you 2014's Halloween mani!

Halloween Makeup Looks: Orange and Purple

I can't believe that Halloween October is almost over and I have yet to share a makeup look. Somehow I managed to make some time to fit one in! I have been looking at purple and orange makeup looks on Pinterest and I have been dying to dry one out. What better time than Halloween to rock these festive colors?

A Month of Halloween Looks: Halloween Needle Drag

Halloween month continues on and I am enjoying every minute of it! I have ventured a few times to Party city, which is just lovely this time of year. I have also consumed my weight in pumpkin foods (tomorrow I break into the pumpkin cinnamon rolls in the fridge).

What does all that mean? It means I have another Halloween themed nail look to share! This week I had a bit of a lack of inspiration. Dare I say it, I feel like I have done all the Halloween looks I can think of! Jack Skellington, candy corn, graveyard, zombies, blood splatter, all been done! I decided to go for a classic needle drag, and switch it up with some Halloween colors.

The Beauty Buffs: Animal Print

Yay its here, the theme I have been waiting for: animal print! And of course it falls during October, when I am busiest with personal life, and keeping up with my Halloween looks. But, there was no way that I was going to sit this week out.

Animal print is fierce! I love animals, and I love showcasing their beauty. Also I am a crazy cat lady, so wearing leopard print makes me feel like I am expressing my cat obsession love fashionably (as opposed to wearing fuzzy cat sweaters).

I have rocked lots of leopard looks around here, and I wanted to take a look back at some of my favorite nail, makeup, and outfit looks!

Julep Plush Pout

I am currently in a love-hate relationship with Julep. I love the products: great quality, and cruelty free. Usually everything is great, they are always responsive and helpful. However, my mom and I had a little hiccup. I already mentioned that my mom had to get angry to get my cat stickers, and then we had another issue.

My mom ordered a lippy and a primer for me. I waited and waited and it never came to my door. My mom called around and she found out that the post office never received it from Julep, but Juelp claimed that it was lost in the mail.

She tried to get another order, but Julep had run out of the lippy. After more mom-yelling, they were able to locate another one!

I finally got to try out Julep's Plush Pout Lip Crayon in Cardinal Red Creme, and the Blank Canvas Plumping Lip Primer.

October Julep Box: Mommy's Little Monster

Halloween continues on around here, and today that means October's Julep Maven box! My mom signed up for Julep Maven back when you were able to pick and choose which months you wanted the box sent to you. Every month, if she doesn't want that box, my mom checks with me. October's Julep Maven box released the Black Magic collection.  There was no way I was passing this one up:

1. October means a Halloween themed collection and goodies.
2. Cat stickers. Need I say more?
3. Little Monster right in the name? Clearly, it was made for me!

Just a quick side note, when my mom went to buy this box for me, they had run out of the cat stickers. After numerous angry phone calls, they were able to scrounge up some more to put in my box. This just makes the name of the box even more fitting!

Let's unwrap it together!

The Beauty Buffs: Neutral

I interrupt your regularly scheduled Halloween post to bring you this week's The Beauty Buffs post! This week's theme is all about neutral colors. Neutrals are basic colors that can be paired with any other color. They are staples that every person needs to have in their wardrobe.

When I think of neutrals, the first color that pops into my head is cream, but they can also be black, white, grey, brown, even navy (like jeans). That's one of the reasons I love leopard print so much, it is made entirely of neutrals so it can be paired with anything!

I struggled a bit with this post. I know that neutrals are necessary, but I am more of a color girl. In the end, I decided to style a neutral dress. I wanted to show how with some pops of color, neutral can still be a statement maker!

I started with a gorgeous cream colored lace dress. To balance out the softness of the dress, I paired it with a black faux leather jacket. Since it is getting chilly out this fall, I added a pair of polka dot tights. There was no way I wan't going to add in my favorite neutral: leopard print! Aren't these flats the cutest? This neutral outfit was screaming for a pop of color, so I finished off with some red accents.

Even though I'm not a neutral girl, I would definitively wear this look. Just by adding a few contrasting pieces, and some pops of color, neutrals can stand their ground even next to the boldest of looks.

Are you a fan of neutrals or colors? What do you think of this neutral look?

Halloween Look Book: Cats & Flats

Creating my cat stocking nail art made me realize how much I missed those guys. I rarely get a chance to wear them, so I really wanted to put an outfit together. To keep in line with my Month of Halloween looks, I decided to create a look that was a little goth looking, but still super cute (hello, how can an outfit not be cute when cats are involved?).

Its hard to see, but my shirt has little skull and cross bone cut outs. Skulls and cats make this outfit perfect for a Halloween celebrations. Add a flowy skirt, a big belt, and a pair of flats to make is wearable, and this is a perfect October outfit!

A Month of Halloween Looks: Graveyard

Zombie rabbits and happy October! We have officially entered my favorite month, which means a month of Halloween looks. I am obsessed with Halloween, and for me, Halloween starts on October 1st and is a month long. Plus it spills over to November 1st and 2nd during the Day of the Dead and my birthday ;)

It is a family tradition that on October 1st, my dad and I decorate our house for Halloween. I'm really sad that this tradition had to end, but I made a little display at my apartment and my office, and of course, on my nails.

For weeks I have been thinking about doing a matte graveyard scene at sunset, so that's how I am going to kick of a Month of Halloween Looks.

Makeup Looks: Blue for the Yankees

Look at me, look at me! I am posting for a second time this week! Its nice to get back to a more normal blogging routine. Hopefully I can keep it up.

As I mentioned, my dad recently visited me and we went to see Derek Jeter's last game in Baltimore. I was decked out all in blue to support my team, so it was only fitting I wore some blue eyeshadow to match. I loved the look so much, I decided to recreate it for the blog!

The Beauty Buffs: Inspired by Cat Stockings

Yay for weekends when I have nothing to do! This past weekend I finally got to catch up on my blogs and create some looks. I have so many ideas swimming around my head and it was very exciting to finally let them out.

I am now picturing cute, little ghosts happily flying out of my ears. Can you tell I have Halloween on the brain?

This Beauty Buffs Wednesday, we all got inspired by a favorite clothing item or accessory. It is so hard for me to pick a favorite item! Do I choose the item I wear most? Or the one with the most unique look? In the end, I decided to go with my cat stockings. I have only worn these once, but I just love them so much I knew these were the winner.

Makeup Looks: Smokey Cat Eye

I am so sorry that I have been such a stinky blogger! Work has really been catching up to me, and when I get home all I want to do is melt into the couch. Plus, fall is always a busy time for me. It has just been back to back weekends which is leaving me zero time to paint my nails, create a new makeup look, or put together an outfit.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining though, I had a super awesome time last weekend! My daddy came to visit me from New York! We went to the natural history museum, the Baltimore aquarium, and we got to see Derek Jeter's last game against Baltimore. They had a really nice farewell ceremony for him and it was just so fun to finally go to a baseball game!

With all of this craziness, I struggled to find time to make looks. A few weeks ago I threw together a quick makeup look. I wanted to practice my cat eye technique and play with some dark eyeshadows that I got for Chanukkah...last year! In the end I wasn't really happy with the look, but its all I had time for, so I am sorry you are stuck with it!

The Beauty Buffs: Fall

Every year I spend winter, spring, and summer counting down to fall. Hands down, it is my absolute favorite season. I love the crisp weather and crisp leaves. I love wearing boots, scarves, and sweaters. Oh God do I love pumpkin spice! And I love the very best day of the whole year: Halloween.

Fun fact: I decorated my kitchen in a fall theme...and by fall theme I really mean Halloween theme.

I am so excited that fall has come early this year! I am loading up on pumpkin spice and happily replacing my summer clothes for fall ones. My Halloween costume is all ready, and I am starting to think about what to add to my birthday wishlist. So when The Beauty Buffs chose fall to be this week's theme, I knew I had to rock it, and represent my favorite time of year!

Look Book: White Pants

I have never been one to follow fashion rules. I never match my shoes to my bag, I never wear a matching pair of socks, and I have been wearing white jeans after Labor Day. I actually have had white jeans on my clothing item wish list since last summer. I love how classy they look, and they can be worn with anything.

On a recent shopping trip, I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair...and I have been pretty much wearing them every week since. Now that Labor Day has come and gone, I have still been rocking my new favorite pants. Who say's you can't wear white pants after Labor Day? They are still just as chic in September!

Look Book: Maxi for a Mini

Maxi dresses, the struggle is real. For an average height girl, maxi dresses are the thing! They are pretty, comfy, and its super easy to throw it on and look amazing. And for tall girls, they are quite a statement maker.

For a 4 foot 11 inch tall girl, maxi dresses are a whole different story. When I go into the store and I see maxi dresses hanging on display, they are usually taller than I am! I used to openly laugh at maxi dresses, because I thought they had to be a joke, no one is really that tall (or maybe I am really just that short).

Silently, I was jealous. I loved the look of maxi dresses, but I was too short to have one. Until now! While picking through the clearance rack in Kohl's (where I find most of my clothes these days) I found it: a maxi dress that wasn't ridiculously long! I tried it on and fell in love! I still had to get it shortened, but just a little, and it fit like a glove.

The Beauty Buffs: Texture

Its a Beauty Buffs Wednesday around here! For this week we were inspired by textures. I absolutely love textured nail polish, however I don't have too many in my collection. I always try to buy more, but I end up chickening out to buy something more useful, like a nude cream.

We are supposed to get inspired by textures, and my mind went to caviar manis. I love the texture created by the caviar beads. It is such a fun and unique look! I decided to take a look back at some of my past looks, and show you my favorite textured manis!

Born Pretty Store Review: Silver Spikes

My poor little blog has been a bit neglected recently. I have been insanely busy with work, and I don't have time to work on my blog because my weekends are so busy. On top of that, my little nails just keep breaking!

But I have some exciting stuff to share, I got a promotion at my job! I have only been there about 3 months, and I already have been promoted and have an employee to manage! I am going to be supper busy during this transition, but you will still be able to find me here :)

Today I have a post that I have been wanting to do for ages! You all know how much I love my blue spiky shoes and I have wanted to do matching nails. Sadly I didn't have any spikes...until now. Born Pretty Store sent me these silver spikes to review! The official name of these spikes is 100Pcs 2.5mm*2mm Punk Simple Spike Rivet Stud UV Gel Nail Art Decoration.

Threedom: What I got in the Zoya Color Freedom promo

This post is about a month late, but better late than never...right?

Last month, Zoya celebrated the 4th of July by offering three nail polishes for free! Of course there was no way I was going to pass that up. After a long time looking through polishes and swatches, and a lot of indecisiveness, I finally chose my three. I don't normally do swatch posts, but I wanted to make sure you saw these beauties sooner rather then later. Even though its already later...

The Beauty Buffs: Black and White

Now that I work an office job, I can actually choose the clothes I wear to work! That might not seem like much to you, but I worked for 3 years at jobs in which I had to wear uniforms. I had a very small work appropriate wardrobe when I got my new job, since it was never something I had to think about. I love bright colors and fun patterns, which isn't always the best to wear in an office.

The weekend before I started my job, I went on a MASSIVE shopping spree, trying to build my work wardrobe. I bought sweaters, button down tops, and a dress from Macy's that I just loved! When I showed up on my first day wearing black dress pants and a blazer, one of my new coworkers told me that I was way too dressed up for the office. I like to dress up so I didn't turn down my wardrobe too much, but the one dress I bought just seemed way too professional for my mew casual office. There was no way it was not going to make an appearance out into the world, and my black and white dress is just perfect for this week's Beauty Buffs theme!

My Nailmergency Kit

Weekends in my life have been crazy lately, and they are only going to get crazier! Summer into fall seems to be my busiest time. To me, that means traveling. And I don't mean fancy week-long vacations. I mean weekend trips to New York to see my family, Pennsylvania to see Ben's, Florida for grandpa time, Texas brother weekends and much more.

As a nail blogger, my ten digits are my money makers, and that means I need to care for them 24/7. A while back, I took a bunch of nail essentials, threw them in a bag, and took that with me anywhere I traveled. This has now evolved into my nailmercency kit.

#MyCosmoStyle for

I was recently contacted by to participate in their #MyCosmoStyle blog challenge. My challenge you ask? Put together outfits to wear if I were staying at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

I have been to Las Vegas as a kid with my dad, but I have never actually gone as an adult.  I am an old lady at heart, so staying up 'til the wee hours partying isn't my thing. However, there are plenty of fun things to do in Vegas at anytime of the day, even going to bed before midnight!

The Beauty Buffs: Nautical/Beach

Hello and welcome to my home!

Today is a special day because it it a Beauty Buffs Wednesday and today's theme is beach/nautical. Around the blog you have seen both beach and nautical looks, I love them both! However, I picked up a summer dress on clearance last winter that I have been dying to wear, and this was the perfect occasion!

Physician's Formula Haul

I feel like followers of my blog need a catchy name, like Lady Gaga's Little Monsters, or Katy Perry's Katycats. Clawsers...Uppers? Haha that's terrible, I'll keep thinking. Let me know what you think it should be!

Back in the beginning of July, I spent the 4th weekend in Atlantic City, NJ. Silly me, when I was getting all made up for the drive over, I totally forgot my makeup bag at home! It wasn't until we stopped for dinner in Baltimore that it hit me I was totally makeup-less! And for me, that was a major crisis.

I knew I had to take the plunge, and the next morning I went to CVS to restock with the bare essentials. If you follow me on Facebook, you would know that I made the decision to only buy cruelty free makeup and nail polish. Well that made it super hard when going to buy makeup at a drug store, since almost all drug store brands test on animals. Luckily, CVS carries Physicians Formula which is cruelty free. Yay! They were also having a buy 2, get 1 free sale, so after about 30 minutes of deciding, I picked 6 products I felt were essential to have.

Born Pretty Store Review: Round Neon Glitter

The products in this post were provided for my honest review. I was not compensated for my opinions.

I know that its weird, but Tuesday has always been my favorite day of the week. I Like that its productive, it makes the day go by faster :) I hope you are all doing well on this fine Tuesday.

Today I have my second Born Pretty Store review to share! I was so excited when I received these 1mm-2mm Mixed Nail Art Glitter Decoration Colorful Mini Round Thin Paillette Design glitters. Boy, that's a mouthful! I'll just call them Round Neon Glitter.

The container came filled with neon circle glitters in two different sizes. There were eight colors in total, though a lot of them were a variation of pink. One container costs $4.36 and its comes with more glitters than you could know what to do with! I love how neons pop over a white base, so I decided to try these out in a rainbow gradient over a white polish.

The Beauty Buffs: Floral + Born Pretty Store Review

The products in this post were provided for my honest review. I was not compensated for my opinions.

Hello everyone! Sorry for my little hiccup in posting.  Hopefully what I have planned for today will make up for it :)

First, today is another The Beauty Buffs Wednesday, and our theme is floral.  I am not the biggest fan of floral clothes, I'm more of an animal print girl myself. But I just love floral nails. They are simple to do, but can create beautiful results. However, for my floral look, I have something a little special!

My First Time with Acrylics...sorta

Hello everyone! How was your 4th of July? Mine was super rainy, but I was happy I still got my beach day on Saturday. But now I'm back to the daily grind. I actually have a day-long meeting at work today. This is my first one so I am excited to see what it entails.

As you know, my nails don't like me. No matter what I try, they are always breaking. My grandma also dealt with this disability, but then I remembered my mom. She has had acrylics on her nails since before I was born. I remember being a kid looking at her nails and asking if they were fake, and she always said no. For a while this really confused me, until I realized that she had acrylics over her natural nails, and she didn't have false ones under. What a brilliant idea! I hate fake nails, but I could put acrylics on my natural nails to prevent them from breaking.

That meant a trip to CVS...

A 4th at the Beach

Hello and happy 4th of July! What do you have planned for the holiday? Last year I spent Independence Day on the capitol lawn for the Capitol 4th concert. I was worried that that might have been my last 4th, since my old job made me work on holidays. Just in the nick of time, I got a new job, and now I have a whole long weekend! Ben and I are spending today at the Jersey Shore, hanging around the beach, walking the boardwalk, and watching the fireworks. I am so excited about our 4th of July plans that I needed some nails to match!

The Beauty Buffs: Polka Dots

Hello everyone! It's time for another Beauty Buffs post and this one is about polka dots! I think polka dots are so fun. They are so versatile! There are endless possibilities from perfect ones all in a row, to different sizes, and of course millions of color combos. Since I did nail art for my stripe look, and I don't have any polka dot clothes, so I thought I would try out some makeup art! I love to play around with fun makeup designs, but I have never done polka dots. I have done dotticures a few times, so I wanted to do something new :)

Floral for an Ice Cream Social

Hello and welcome to another Monday. Now that I work a 9-5, Mondays are a sad thing. But that also means I actually have weekends off! Its so nice to go out and do weekend things, since at my last job I used to have to work on the weekends.

Yesterday I actually went to my very first blogger event! It was a Gifford's ice cream social hosted by the Nova Housewives. There was delicious food, free ice cream, and lots of fun things to do. After Ben and I had our ice cream, we spent the evening playing mini golf. I also walked away with an awesome goodie bag! I wish I would have talked to more bloggers, but it seemed like everyone knew each other and I was the odd one out. Hopefully in time I'll start to know everyone too!

Since I am partly a fashion blogger, I wanted to wear a cute dress to represent myself. It was the perfect summer evening, and that means a perfect summer dress!
