Floral for an Ice Cream Social

Hello and welcome to another Monday. Now that I work a 9-5, Mondays are a sad thing. But that also means I actually have weekends off! Its so nice to go out and do weekend things, since at my last job I used to have to work on the weekends.

Yesterday I actually went to my very first blogger event! It was a Gifford's ice cream social hosted by the Nova Housewives. There was delicious food, free ice cream, and lots of fun things to do. After Ben and I had our ice cream, we spent the evening playing mini golf. I also walked away with an awesome goodie bag! I wish I would have talked to more bloggers, but it seemed like everyone knew each other and I was the odd one out. Hopefully in time I'll start to know everyone too!

Since I am partly a fashion blogger, I wanted to wear a cute dress to represent myself. It was the perfect summer evening, and that means a perfect summer dress!

Delicate Flowers

Woohoo! I am finally all caught up in life! My shows are all watched, blogs have been read, and I finally have time to sit down and post. I feel like I am on a pink kick lately. My last couple posts have been all about the color. What can I say? Its fun, cute, girly, and my favorite color. I promise, all of my upcoming posts wont be who am I kidding, I can't promise that!

This post didn't start out being all pink. I was actually torn between a few ideas, until I saw this post from One Nail To Rule Them All and I knew I had to try my own version. I was going to do all different color flowers, but after I did my pink ones, I didn't have enough room for any others...oops!

Creating a Color for Julep Inspired by my Grandma

Today I have a post to share that's a little different, but I am so excited about it. Julep contacted me to help them inspire a new nail polish color! I was so excited when they contacted me that my head started filling with ideas. "Julep’s nail polish colors are all named after women who inspire us—women who are strong and smart and funny and gorgeous and different.”After some thinking, I knew exactly where to find polish inspiration.

The Beauty Buffs: Stripes

Hello and welcome to another Beauty Buffs post! Sorry for my sporadic posting lately. I had a hint of a mental break down last week because I was soooo busy.  But I managed to get everything done before my trip to Florida last weekend. My dad and I went to my favorite place ever...DISNEY! Then we visited my grandpa for father's day. Now I am back and with some awesome updates...but you will have to wait for those! Sorry I'm such a meanie, but it will be worth the wait :)

Today's post is all about stripes. Sadly, I wasn't feeling too inspired by this prompt. I did a stripe look for my pastel Beauty Buffs post, and I didn't want to do another similar look. I decided to try and think out of the box, and make striping tape out of pink nail polish and scotch tape. Sadly, it didn't turn out how I had hoped, plus I had just suffered a terrible break, and I wasn't too happy with my little nubs.

Makeup Looks: Maleficent

My life has been one major game of catch up lately. I had to get ready for my anniversary weekend trip last week, so this week I need to catch up from being gone the weekend before last, plus I'm going to Florida this weekend! I am still a week behind reading blog posts, plus I am scrambling to get my own posts done! On top of that I am trying to stay on top of my TV shows and movies.

Oh Movies.

There are so many good ones that have been coming out one right after the other. Last weekend, Ben and I went to see Maleficent. Ben wasn't thrilled about it but I am a HUGE Disney fan (2 more days until I am in Disney World!!!!) So I needed to see it. It was pretty good, but I had hoped it would be creepier/less kiddie. Saturday morning I put on a purple and green top, and I decided to match my makeup (as I usually do). When I was all done the colors reminded me of Maleficent! I guess that was pretty appropriate since I was seeing the movie that night.

The Beauty Buffs: Neon Everything

Everything? Neon everything? Well you asked for everything and you are going to get everything!

I have been planning this Beauty Buffs post ever since I first heard about it. I absolutely love all things neon! Now, pastels are nice, and I do love royal blue, but neons would have to be my favorite, and when Nory said that this week's theme was neon everything, well I am going to give you everything!

5th Anniversary Weekend Camping Trip

Well, I'm sorry about that! When I was planning everything last week, I didn't intend for a big blogging break. Even though I only worked 3 days last week, I ended up being super busy. May 27th was my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend. We wanted to go away for Memorial day weekend to celebrate, but my last job didn't let me have the days off, so we celebrated last weekend. We decided to do a camping trip in Luray, a small town about an hour and a half away. We had lots to do to prep for the weekend, plus I knew I'd be without technology, so I needed to do all my blog prep the weekend before, and I ran out of time to get posts done.

Oh well.

We had a really nice time over the weekend. We stayed in a cabin, which was a step up for Ben who usually camps in a tent, but for a city girl like me, it was hard to adjust to bugs, mice, and no cell service. We explored the little town and picked up some cute antiques and ate at little cafes. We also toured the Luray caverns and did a bit of hiking. For our anniversary dinner we made veggie burgers, corn, and garlic bread on the grill, and made s'mores every night. On our last day we took a privet horse ride before we left to go back home. It was a fun get-away weekend, and definitely something different for me!
