A Month oh Halloween Looks: Evil Pumpkin

Finally, after lots of waiting, my favorite day of the whole year has arrived. Its Halloween! Or as I like to call it: Part 1 of my birthday trilogy. I am so excited to dress up tonight and have lots of fun. If I could wear costumes everyday I would. There is something so fun about just going crazy and expressing yourself.

And the fact that pumpkins are involved makes it that much better.

For this year's Halloween manicure, I knew I wanted to incorporate Chalkboard Nails' smokey nail art. I asked Ben what I should add to it, and he said a scary jack-o-lantern with glowing yellow eyes. With that, I bring you 2014's Halloween mani!

Halloween Makeup Looks: Orange and Purple

I can't believe that Halloween October is almost over and I have yet to share a makeup look. Somehow I managed to make some time to fit one in! I have been looking at purple and orange makeup looks on Pinterest and I have been dying to dry one out. What better time than Halloween to rock these festive colors?

A Month of Halloween Looks: Halloween Needle Drag

Halloween month continues on and I am enjoying every minute of it! I have ventured a few times to Party city, which is just lovely this time of year. I have also consumed my weight in pumpkin foods (tomorrow I break into the pumpkin cinnamon rolls in the fridge).

What does all that mean? It means I have another Halloween themed nail look to share! This week I had a bit of a lack of inspiration. Dare I say it, I feel like I have done all the Halloween looks I can think of! Jack Skellington, candy corn, graveyard, zombies, blood splatter, all been done! I decided to go for a classic needle drag, and switch it up with some Halloween colors.

The Beauty Buffs: Animal Print

Yay its here, the theme I have been waiting for: animal print! And of course it falls during October, when I am busiest with personal life, and keeping up with my Halloween looks. But, there was no way that I was going to sit this week out.

Animal print is fierce! I love animals, and I love showcasing their beauty. Also I am a crazy cat lady, so wearing leopard print makes me feel like I am expressing my cat obsession love fashionably (as opposed to wearing fuzzy cat sweaters).

I have rocked lots of leopard looks around here, and I wanted to take a look back at some of my favorite nail, makeup, and outfit looks!

Julep Plush Pout

I am currently in a love-hate relationship with Julep. I love the products: great quality, and cruelty free. Usually everything is great, they are always responsive and helpful. However, my mom and I had a little hiccup. I already mentioned that my mom had to get angry to get my cat stickers, and then we had another issue.

My mom ordered a lippy and a primer for me. I waited and waited and it never came to my door. My mom called around and she found out that the post office never received it from Julep, but Juelp claimed that it was lost in the mail.

She tried to get another order, but Julep had run out of the lippy. After more mom-yelling, they were able to locate another one!

I finally got to try out Julep's Plush Pout Lip Crayon in Cardinal Red Creme, and the Blank Canvas Plumping Lip Primer.

October Julep Box: Mommy's Little Monster

Halloween continues on around here, and today that means October's Julep Maven box! My mom signed up for Julep Maven back when you were able to pick and choose which months you wanted the box sent to you. Every month, if she doesn't want that box, my mom checks with me. October's Julep Maven box released the Black Magic collection.  There was no way I was passing this one up:

1. October means a Halloween themed collection and goodies.
2. Cat stickers. Need I say more?
3. Little Monster right in the name? Clearly, it was made for me!

Just a quick side note, when my mom went to buy this box for me, they had run out of the cat stickers. After numerous angry phone calls, they were able to scrounge up some more to put in my box. This just makes the name of the box even more fitting!

Let's unwrap it together!

The Beauty Buffs: Neutral

I interrupt your regularly scheduled Halloween post to bring you this week's The Beauty Buffs post! This week's theme is all about neutral colors. Neutrals are basic colors that can be paired with any other color. They are staples that every person needs to have in their wardrobe.

When I think of neutrals, the first color that pops into my head is cream, but they can also be black, white, grey, brown, even navy (like jeans). That's one of the reasons I love leopard print so much, it is made entirely of neutrals so it can be paired with anything!

I struggled a bit with this post. I know that neutrals are necessary, but I am more of a color girl. In the end, I decided to style a neutral dress. I wanted to show how with some pops of color, neutral can still be a statement maker!

I started with a gorgeous cream colored lace dress. To balance out the softness of the dress, I paired it with a black faux leather jacket. Since it is getting chilly out this fall, I added a pair of polka dot tights. There was no way I wan't going to add in my favorite neutral: leopard print! Aren't these flats the cutest? This neutral outfit was screaming for a pop of color, so I finished off with some red accents.

Even though I'm not a neutral girl, I would definitively wear this look. Just by adding a few contrasting pieces, and some pops of color, neutrals can stand their ground even next to the boldest of looks.

Are you a fan of neutrals or colors? What do you think of this neutral look?

Halloween Look Book: Cats & Flats

Creating my cat stocking nail art made me realize how much I missed those guys. I rarely get a chance to wear them, so I really wanted to put an outfit together. To keep in line with my Month of Halloween looks, I decided to create a look that was a little goth looking, but still super cute (hello, how can an outfit not be cute when cats are involved?).

Its hard to see, but my shirt has little skull and cross bone cut outs. Skulls and cats make this outfit perfect for a Halloween celebrations. Add a flowy skirt, a big belt, and a pair of flats to make is wearable, and this is a perfect October outfit!

A Month of Halloween Looks: Graveyard

Zombie rabbits and happy October! We have officially entered my favorite month, which means a month of Halloween looks. I am obsessed with Halloween, and for me, Halloween starts on October 1st and is a month long. Plus it spills over to November 1st and 2nd during the Day of the Dead and my birthday ;)

It is a family tradition that on October 1st, my dad and I decorate our house for Halloween. I'm really sad that this tradition had to end, but I made a little display at my apartment and my office, and of course, on my nails.

For weeks I have been thinking about doing a matte graveyard scene at sunset, so that's how I am going to kick of a Month of Halloween Looks.
