[Fanatic Style Challenge] New York Giants Jersey Outfit

If you know me, than you know I’m not a huge sports fan. But if you know me, you would also know that I am super proud of the place where I was born and raised: New York! Part of expressing my love for this amazing state and city is supporting my New York teams. I’m pretty bummed that baseball season is over for this year (go Yankees!) but that just means it’s time to root for the Giants.

I am all about “just in case” clothes. My closet is filled with odd pieces that I keep around “just in case” I’d ever need them. A tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirt, knee-high leopard boots, a few corsets from my Rocky Horror days, you just never know what you might need! When the Giants were in the Superbowl a few years ago, we had a party at my job and I came to realize that I didn't own one single Giants thing. It has been a mission of mine to find the perfect "just in case" Giants wear.

I started thinking about how much I need an NFL jersey in my wardrobe, and how I would wear it. I chose the women's Eli Manning jersey because I have recently decided that Eli Manning is my favorite Giants player (only because during the Hallmark Channels Kitten Bowl, there was a cat named Feline Manning).

Playing off the the Giant's colors, I added lots of red and blue accents to this look. Since a football jersey isn't the most feminine article of clothing, I wanted to girly it up by adding a pair of flower earrings, nail polish, and a bold, red lippie. But remember this is still a sporting event, so I included a pair of white sneakers and red leggings to stay comfy. I topped it all off with an American flag headband, because there is nothing more American than football!

How would you have styled this New York Giants jersey? Which team would you have chosen?

[Weddington Way Style Challenge] One Bridesmaids Dress,Two Ways

Like most girls, I have been planning my wedding since I was a kid. It didn't matter to me who the groom would be, I spend hours dreaming about what my dress would look like, who would be standing next to me, and what songs would be played. As I got older some of my choices changed, but one thing that hasn't changed is that my bridesmaids would be wearing short, red dresses.

I was challenged by Weddington Way to style a bridesmaids dress two ways: a wedding look, and a weekend look. I checked out their website, and I chose this dress because it is what I had envisioned for my future bridesmaids. What I love about Weddington way is they they have a huge selection of styles and colors, so its pretty much impossible to not find the perfect dress. You can also order a dress swatch, to make sure its the perfect color to fit your theme. To top it all off, you can even give your bridesmaids $15 towards their dress! Because lets face it, those girls are already going to be dropping $100-$200 on a dress they didn't even pick.

For the wedding look, I styled the dress I chose in the way I would want the bridesmaids to dress for my own wedding (are you paying attention, Sara?)

[Collab] Look Book: Sweater Weather

Is it just me, or did Fall last about two weeks? Its still November, but I feel like we are already in winter! Luckily, even though its doesn't feel like fall anymore, I can still swear all of my fall favorites. Who am I kidding?! I wear fall clothes from September through March! Of course I love the accessories from scarves to boots, but you can't have those without the perfect sweater centerpiece.

When Dee of Slumber Talk asked me to do a collaboration post with her, I was super excited about the Sweater Weather theme.

Every year I seem to add more sweaters in to my wardrobe. My mom got me this blue sweater for my birthday, and I have been wearing it non-stop ever since. Its so comfy, and its perfect to wear on the weekends, but my favorite way to wear it is dressed up for work.

The Beauty Buffs: Metallic

I graduated college in 2011, and shortly after started my first job. For the next three years, I worked at jobs that required me to wear a uniform. For someone that loves to express themselves, especially through clothes, this was pretty rough. Coincidence that this blog is also 3 years old? Nail art was the perfect outlet to express myself while I wore uniforms 5 days a week.

Now that I work an office job, I love getting to dress up every day! Some of my coworkers comment that I am too dressed up for our casual office, but I welcome the opportunity to dress up!

I was actually really nervous when I got this dress, and I didn't wear it for months becsause the style was a little out of my comfort zone. But I took the plunge, and everyone at work loved it! I especially love the metallic statement-making collar, which was perfect for this weeks Beauty Buffs theme.

Mix & Match Makeup Looks: Hercules

A mix & match nail look can’t be completed without the matching makeup look! I shared my nails inspired by Meg from Hercules a few days ago, and now it’s time to see how she inspired my makeup. Of course I had to start with some light and dark purples just like she wears in her dress. I also added some gold accents to match the Born Pretty Store gold spiral nail decals.

Mix & Match: Hercules + BPS Review

It has been way too long since my last Disney princess Mix and Match look. I have wanted to do a look inspired by Meg from Hercules for a while. Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies. I love all of the mythology, plus I love that there's a Greek "princess" since I'm Greek.

I also have some awesome Born Pretty Store nail decals to share! I received these Unique G-shaped Pattern Nail Art Water Decals Transfers Stickers and they instantly reminded me of Meg from Hercules. Not only are there Greek key decals, but also spiral decals just like in the movie.

On a side note, yesterday was the 3rd blogaversary of Claws Up! Thanks to everyone for all of your support over the last three years! I appreciate everyone that has stuck around, especially those that were here from the start. Thanks for being kind and understanding, and always encouraging, even when I shared my many fails!

Dia De Los Meurtos: My 25th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me, today is my 25th birthday! Also its Sunday, and whenever my birthday falls on a Sunday, that also means its daylight savings, and I get an extra hour of birthday. Ben and I went out to the Melting Pot for my birthday dinner yesterday, and today we are celebrating my birthday at the zoo!

I definitely had a really fun Halloween (stay tuned for my upcoming Halloween looks) and I always wished my birthday was October 31st. But the next best thing is having my birthday fall during Dia De Los Muertos. Every year I celebrate my birthday with Dia De Los Muertos nails. Not only do I get to extend my Halloween nail looks a little bit extra, but I also get to rock one of my favorite holidays on my nails during my birthday!
