Think Pink

Less than 10 days left to enter my Giveaway!

My manicures almost always start with a specific inspiration or idea of what I want to do.  I am the kind of person that needs to have everything planned. I need to know what night I am going out to eat 3 days in advance so I can plan out how I am doing my hair, and don't even get me started on making travel plans. When planning a trip, I like to have things months in advance! I get extremely anxious when things aren't perfectly planned, so just sitting at my nail table with no real ideas left me feeling clueless. I finally decided that I was feeling something pink, monochrome, and 3D. This is what my brain came up with:

Look Book: Comfort Grunge and Comfort Zones

When it comes to what I wear, I feel that I have my own personal "look". I don't think I fall into any particular label or anything, but sometimes I can look at an outfit and think that it fits my style, or it isn't my look at all. I love bold colors, lots of print, and making a statement with my fashion. Lately however, I have been feeling like I want to broaden my horizons. Everyone expects me to wear a leopard top with red pants, but I want to start wearing clothes that I normally would have never seen myself in. What does that mean? Leggings as pants.

Roaring Rocking Red

Less than 20 days left to win some Zoyas in my GIVEAWAY!!

I love nail strips. I really do. I know some nail art enthusiasts are not the biggest fans, but I think nail strips offer some awesome nail art with minimum effort and extended wear. Don't get me wrong, I love painting on my own art, but sometimes I just don't have the time. Two weeks ago I visited home for a long weekend.  I really had to scramble to get everything done before I left, which meant I needed to get a quick mani in. I thought about doing a basic swatch, or a glitter topper, but I wanted something a bit more WOW to wear on my fingers while visiting New York.

The Sally Hansen nail strips are awesome. They are made from real nail polish so they are really easy to work with. They are also super long so I can cut the strips in half to fit my infant sized fingernails. That means I get double the wear out of one box, and that means saving money!  However, I don't want to wear the same manicure twice, so that means getting a little creative.

Makeup Looks: Hufflepuff

My Zoya 300 post/2 year blogaversary GIVEAWAY is still going om!

Every month, Nancy from Dark Side of Beauty hosts a series challenge.  I really enjoyed getting to participate in the very first month, unfortunately I just wasn't able to participate in another challenge since then.  With the new year, came a new series challenge, and this month's theme is Harry Potter! I had been dying to participate again, and with an awesome theme, I knew it was time to get back into the game.

Today ends week 2, Hufflepuff week. Ever since the books came out and we were first introduced to the 4 houses, I always felt that the Sorting Hat would place me into Hufflepuff.  In high school I wasn't the brave and loyal one, I wasn't the bad girl, and I wasn't the bookworm. I was weird and awkward, and so were my group of close friends. I didn't fit into any real label, and that made me feel distinctly Hufflepuff. I am so glad Nancy chose to do a Hufflepuff week, otherwise I never would have been inspired to do makeup for my favorite house!

Look Book: Prep School

Hello everyone! I apologize for my surprise break. I went away to New York last weekend to visit home. I tried to get a post in before I left, but I just got too busy. Then I had to work extra long days to make up for taking off a 3 day weekend. But I'm back! I am working hard to read all of your posts and to write a few of my own.

I think following clothing stores on Instagram might be a bad idea. I follow Delias, and a little while ago they posted the most awesome top and it nearly changed my life. Before I could blink, I had whipped out my credit card and bought it online.  I mentioned before that I just acquired a few new sweaters, and I knew I wanted to pair my new top with a cozy sweater for winter. I ended up with a prep school look, and I have to say I really like it! I wore this outfit to Ben's dad's holiday party back in December. You guys know I need to squeeze in as many photo shoots as I can while I'm at Ben's house.

A Cray Crelly Sandwich

Its so nice to finally be able to breathe again! The holidays at work are always so busy. For the past couple weeks I have been working super long crazy hours, that I didn't have time to do much else. Its great that I can finally get back into the swing of doing my nails and blogging. It was weird having naked nails for so long. Now that I feel back to my normal self, and my little nubs are starting to grow, it was time to get back to painting. I was really in the mood to do some nail art, but after I played grown-up catch up all weekend, I didn't have much time. I decided to go for a simple crelly sandwich.

Look Book: NYE 2014

If you guys were paying attention at the end of my last post, you should have known that I would be showing my new years eve outfit today. And, if you guys really knew me, you would also have known that my outfit would be black and pink.  I have mentioned in the past that I almost always match my makeup to my outfit.  I knew what I wanted to wear on new years, so I made sure to paint my nails black and pink, so they would match my black and pink makeup. It all just came together like a surreal out of body experience for you, didn't it?
