Under the Sea

There's no denying that Lindsey from Wondrously Polished is an amazing nail artist. I have been admiring her work for over a year, and I love everything that she creates. The way she does her swatches is my favorite. Not only does she show the polish on it's own, but sometimes she will add nail art to it.

My favorite looks are when she paints beautiful nail art over a total glitter bomb. I have been wanting to take inspiration from Lindsey for a while, so I decided to do some glitter base nail art. I went for an under the sea theme, because I really wish I was at the beach this summer!

Swatch Saturday: China Glaze Don't Make Me Wine

It has been a while since I had a Swatch Saturday around here, and I thought it was time to fix that. While I really like summer, and the colors that come along with it (hello, neon!), fall will always be number one in my heart. I'm over the summer heat, and with Halloween less than 100 days away, I wanted to cool it down.

Two years ago I won the entire China Glaze 2013 fall collection, the Autumn Nights collection. I decided to grab China Glaze Don't Make Me Wine for a swatch. I know this polish is old news, and it's already all over the internet, but I wanted to throw my hat in the ring.

Look Book: Think Pink

I love saving money. There, I said it. Ben and I only eat one meal out a week to save money, and we are always using coupons at the grocery store. When we go clothes shopping at Kohl's, I walk right to the back to pick through the clearance racks. But once in a while, I lose self-control. As I was walking to the clearance rack, a beautiful pink dress caught my eye. It wasn't on clearance and I tried to convince myself I didn't need it, but I gave in.

But I did have a coupon.

Look Book: Orange You Glad?

Today is the last day to enter my giveaway and join my party!

Confession time. For a while, I really hated the color orange. I used to feel like it was too bright and ugly, and it reminded me of orange lollipops that the doctor gave you after a checkup that tasted awful. Recently however, orange has begun to grow on me. I started to see all the positive aspects of orange. It was the color of pumpkins, fall, and Halloween, the time of year that makes me the happiest. Now, I have to admit I am an orange lover!

Hating orange for so long meant that it was really lacking in my wardrobe. With my new-found love for the color, I was determined to change that. I was so excited when I found this fun orange dress with blue beautiful details!

Make sure to enter my giveaway and join my party!

Hello and welcome to the final installment of the Say My Name 2.0 series. I shared swatch after swatch of nail polishes featuring my name, and for the grande finale, I wanted to feature some nail art using all four polishes.

It look me a while to think of something that would look good using only the four colors I had. I finally decided on some colorful fern nail art.

Say My Name 2.0 - Jacqueline Swatches Part 2

Make sure to enter my giveaway and join my party!

Welcome to the second installment of Say My Name 2.0, the Jacqueline Swatches. My last post featured Adesse New York Jacqueline and Julep Jacqueline. Since I am collecting nail polishes with my name, I thought it would be fun to give them all a few minutes in the spotlight. For my second two namesake nail polishes, I am actually sharing polishes that I have had for quite some time and were first featured here in my original Say My Name post.

Say My Name 2.0 - Jacqueline Swatches Part 1

Make sure to enter my giveaway!

About two years ago, I stumbled upon Zoya Jacqueline, the perfect off-white polish. Not just a perfect color, but I thought it was so cool that a nail polish and I shared a name. Around the same time I also found Julep Jackie, not spelled the same, but close enough. That is how I started my collection of nail polishes with my name.

Recently, I saw a review of Adesse New York nail polish on Moxie Reviews, I have never heard of this brand before, but I nearly died with how amazing it was. Adesse New York is a New York (and we all know I am a very proud New Yorker) based nail polish company that is cruelty free and vegan. Their recent collection, The NYC Friends collection, featured a polished called, of course, Jacqueline! A cruelty free and vegan, New York nail polish with my name? There was no was I was passing this one up!

Look Book: Have a Grateful 4th of July

Make sure to enter my giveaway!

Happy 4th of July! I am going to be celebrating this evening with some friends watching the fireworks. My mom found the perfect 4th of July top for me to wear this year. It has a dancing bear on it, which is one of the symbols of The Grateful Dead, a hippy rock band from the 1960's. Just like I am a Little Monster, my dad is a Dead Head, or a huge fan of The Grateful Dead. My dad's been to over 100 concerts, and when I was only a year old, he started taking me too. Going to Grateful Dead concerts with my dad was something very special for us (sadly, they are playing in their farewell tour this summer).

The Grateful Dead were very patriotic. You might have seen their most well-known symbol, a red, white and blue skull with a lightning bolt (like the sunglasses the bear is wearing on my shirt). Did you know the lighting bolt has exactly 13 points? That's for the 13 original colonies. So it's no surprise that my mom found this dancing bear shirt with a stars and stripes top hat.

Bronx Bombers

Make sure to enter my giveaway!

Being from  New York, I am a pretty big Yankees fan. I have been going to games with my dad since I was a kid. Moving to Virginia meant that if I wanted to see the Bronx Bombers play, it would have to be at an away game. My dad even took me to see Derek Jeter's last game against the Baltimore Orioles. I have to admit, I was pretty scared to show up to an Orioles game decked out in full Yankees gear, but when I got there, almost half of the people were in Yankees clothes!

Ben and I were able to go to a Yankees game this year. I have been wanting to do Yankees nails for a while, so I decided to give them a ago for the game.
