Mix and Match: Aladdin

Enter my giveaway and join my Jamberry Facebook party!

I have seen Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and The Little Mermaid on Broadway. I added Aladdin to my Disney on Broadway collection when Ben and I went to see it together on Valentine's day (right after we got engaged!). Aladdin has been one of my favorite Disney movies for ages, so of course I needed to add Princess Jasmine to my Mix and Match Disney series.

When I visited Austin, TX in December I found a whole section in Walgreen's filled with Aladdin nail and makeup supplies. I picked up a makeup bag, and a Jasmine nail art kit that I knew would be perfect for my Mix and Match look.

This Diamond Ring

Don't forget to enter my Jamberry giveaway!

I have been feeling a little uninspired when it comes to nail art lately. I used to be able to just think up ideas, but recently I feel like I need to find things to gain inspiration from. Ben suggested that I do nails inspired by my engagement ring, and I thought that was a great idea!  This weekend I will actually be in New York for my engagement party so it was perfect timing.

Swatch Saturday: PINKi NATURALI Juneau

Make sure you enter my Jamberry giveaway!

In an effort to add more features to my little ole' blog, I decided to add something called "Swatch Saturday." Every so often, on a Saturday, I will be sharing swatches of polishes that I have in my collection. Some will be untrieds, and others will be ones I have used in nail art, but I have not shown off their beauty on their own.

For my first Swatch Saturday I want to share an untried polish from a new-to-me brand called Luna Star Naturals PINKi NATURALI. Luna Star Naturals makes nail polish and makeup that is natural and cruelty free. The nail polish is 3-free and odorless. Yes that's right, it does not smell at all! It is a water-based polish that peals off when you are ready to remove it and it's safe for kids.

Jamberry Nails Review

When I first started developing an interest in nail art I didn't have any skills, and I didn't really know were to start. All I knew is that I loved expressing myself with fun nails. Nail wraps instantly became my go to. I wore them non-stop for some easy nail art that lasted. I then practiced and tried out different nail art techniques, but it all started with nail wraps.

The super sweet Katie from Adventures By Katie asked me to review Jamberry nail wraps and I was so excited! On a side note, everyone needs to check out Katie's blog. She blogs about all things Disney (which you know I love), vegan food, and she's located right in Northern Virginia just like me!

My Wedding Plan

As I mentioned before, Ben and I recently got engaged! It's kind of a strange feeling that the day I have been planning and dreaming about since I was a kid is soon going to be a reality. While I work on planning the wedding and visiting lots of family during the weekends in the process  I might not be able to stick to my two-days-a-week blog schedule. I am going to do my best to stay ahead.

I also want to share my wedding planning experiences on the blog as I learn and figure out what needs to be done. Obviously I have never planned a wedding, and I have no idea where to start! What needs to be done? When should I do it? HELP! I decided to look up some different wedding timelines and checklists and I made one that best fit what our needs are.

Born Pretty Store Review: Iced Mylar Sheets

How often does this happen to you? You set out with a clear plan for your nail art, and when its done it looks totally different. That's what happened to me when I was reviewing these Iced Mylar Nail Art Sheets from Born Pretty Store.

These mylar sheets come in 12 different colors in little pots. They are super hard to apply. I used tweezers but it was hard to pick up the smaller pieces with them, and the larger ones I could pick up easily were sometimes too big for my nails. They also stick up a lot, and even with a good layer of topcoat they wouldn't lay flat. But the fight is worth the outcome. They are so pretty on the nail and have a gorgeous effect when the light hits them!

Mix and Match Makeup Looks: The Little Mermaid

It's pretty much inevitable at this point that I have fallen into a pattern when it comes to my Mix and Match looks. I always end up loving one of the looks, and hating the other. When I was obsessed with my Ariel nails, I should have predicted that I wouldn't like the matching makeup look. That's exactly what happened.
