When we got there, we were a little early, so we stopped at a zoo food stand for some happy hour apps. Then, we walked over to the part of the zoo sectioned off for the event. Everyone was given a commemorative beer mug that we could use to get unlimited samples. All you have to do was walk up to one of the beer vendors, and they fill the mug with a sample of beer from the tap.
All during the event, keepers had different small animals that they brought out. I loved getting to see the animals close up, and talk to keepers. There were also booths that you could go up to to learn about research that's being done at the zoo, and animal care. It really made me miss my time working at the Bronx Zoo.
After sampling all different kinds of beer, and buying some souvenirs, Ben and I hit up some of the food trucks for dinner.
A painting I bought that was painted by an orangutan.
We had such a fun time, and I loved supporting wildlife too. I can't wait to go back next year!
