Makeup Looks: Orange Julius

As a blogger, I spend most of my evenings browsing through other blogs. I love catching up on what everyone is doing, connecting with other bloggers, and gaining new inspiration. One blog I follow is Taya My Little Beauty World. Recently, she posted a gorgeous orange and glitter makeup look that I knew I needed to recreate.

Swatch Saturday: Ciate A List

As Ben and I continue to wedding plan, we are just finishing up getting all the big stuff taken care of, and now it's time to focus on the details. One of the more recent things we nailed down was the rabbi. Not only will she marry us, but we also get three premarital counseling sessions. We just had our first one last night. On the positive side, I learned that while we have vastly different interests, a lot of our goals are aligned. On the negative side, I learned that I am very needy.

With all the wedding planning, I am surprising myself with how well I am keeping up with blogging. (I admit, I has been tough). Today I am swatching Ciate A List from the 2015 Mini Mani Month collection.

Wet n Wild CoverAll Correcting Palette

When I was in High School, I was super into art. I even opted out of language classes to take more art and science classes. One of the very first things we learned about in art was the color wheel. I can talk about warm colors and cool colors, mixing colors, and color opposites until I am blue in the face (no pun intended).

That is where the idea behind color correcting pallets came from. When you use the opposite color on your skin, it cancels out the color that you want to hide. That really intrigued me, so I decided to pick up the Wet n Wild CoverAll Correcting Palette.

Check Mate

When I was 10 years old, a friend of mine taught me how to play chess. My granddaddy was amazing at chess, and my mom told me that he actually played against a Grandmaster in chess and won! I was so excited to show off my new skills and play against him. I remember I actually took one of his pieces and I was so proud of myself. In the next move, he beat me. That's when I learned the art of sacrificing yourself in order to win, something that Ron Weasley taught us years later.

That's totally barbaric!

Makeup Looks: Earth Tones

I can't even believe how busy I am. From all the first time homeowner stuff, to planning a wedding, to all the other normal life stuff, it's non-stop. Now that it's summer, we are busy with all the stuff that comes with it like vacations and family visits. Plus, I want to take some time away from the computer to enjoy the gorgeous weather.

With everything going on, it's hard to stay ahead with blogging, but I'm doing my best! Today I wanted to share an Earth tone makeup look. I wanted something with lots of browns and greens, but also a touch of gold for some brightness and fun.

Swatch Saturday: Ciate Shady Lady

It has been way too long since I have done a Swatch Saturday post. I have been trying to stay ahead by swatching every weekend, but I have been so busy with the house and planning the wedding, it has been tough.  Today I have another nail polish from the 2015 Ciate Mini Mani Month box: Ciate Shady Lady.

Our First Home

Back at the end of March, Ben and I finally moved into our first house. It took a couple of months for us to get all unpacked and settled . We also had to wait for all of our new furniture to get here, put up our decorations, paint, and fix everything that was broken. Now that our house finally looks like a home, I wanted to share some photos!

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

Last weekend My fiance Ben and I went to Disney World to celebrate our 7th anniversary (plus we visited my grandpa for his 98th birthday). I knew that I wanted to do Disney nail art. I also knew that I was feeling lazy that day and I didn't want to do anything too complicated.

I just got a red jelly, Julep Kimball, from the Brights and White collection in the Julep Maven April 2016 box. Jelly? Pond mani! Red? Mickey Mouse nail art!

7th Anniversary Trip to Florida

May 27th was my 7th anniversary with my fiance, Ben. This anniversary was a really special one, because it also marked exactly one year until our wedding! We are officially less than one year out now, and I feel like there's so much to do.

The next day, May 28th, was my grandpa's 98th birthday, so we decided to fly down to Florida for a birth-aversary celebration!
